Qualcomm’s Design challenge is focused at bringing a product and hardware-centric ecosystem in India. As a part of the initiative, the company will be setting up an Innovation Lab in Bangalore, in collaboration with an Indian subsidiary. The lab will be providing technical and engineering assistance to the Indian companies, which will give a boost to their innovative ideas in terms of product and hardware designs. The challenge is open for all the India-based individual companies or start-ups that have completed a minimum of one year of operation and are equipped to demonstrate hardware designs for smartphones, tablets, wearables and products for smart cities, automotive & telematics, robotics, and devices for the Internet of Things (IoT) ecosystem.

The company will be selecting up to three companies with the most promising products. These companies will be handpicked by an eminent judging panel, and the winner companies will get up to $100,000 funding, as a token of recognition and encouragement for their future efforts. The challenge will start on December 1 and will run till February 29, 2016.
