Moto X had already received the Android 5.0 Lollipop update some weeks ago, and as promised, Motorola has started rolling out Android 5.0 Lollipop update for the Moto G (1st generation and 2nd generation) in India. The company had announced that it will update all its smartphones which were released in 2013 and 2015. This includes all the variants of the Moto G and the Moto X, apart from the Moto E.

Motorola has stuck to stock Android UI design for its software update. This update takes the Moto G (1st Gen.) and the Moto G (2nd Gen.) from Android 4.4.4 KitKat to Android 5.0.2 Lollipop with a build number LBX22. This update brings new Material UI design, enhanced notifications, improved multitasking UI, Ambient display, support for multiple accounts, battery saver, performance enhancements, and the smart lock/unlock feature.

The update is rolling out in stages, so don't fret if you haven't received it already. It might take 2-3 days before it hits all the devices in India.
