A year after launching the Stream 8 tablet in September, HP has finally released the device in India. The Stream 8 runs on Windows 8.1 out-of-the-box and is now available on the company’s official online store and e-commerce sites for Rs 16,990.
In terms of specifications, the HP Stream 8 comes with an 8-inch HD IPS display with 1280×800 pixel resolution. The tablet is powered by a 1.8GHz Intel Atom Z3735G quad-core processor coupled with 1GB of RAM. There is 32GB of internal storage on-board, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via microSD card slot.
The HP Stream 8 has a 5-megapixel rear camera (lacks flash), and a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. It has connectivity options such as 3G, Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, single-SIM (micro-SIM) and micro-USB. It is backed by a 4,000mAh battery.
The tablet is set to rival against iBall Slide WQ32, which comes with almost similar specs, but is priced as lower as Rs 12,799. Also, it will face some competition from the Notion Ink Cain 8, which too has identical specifications, but is priced even lower at Rs 9,990.
