iBall has been quietly and steadily launching a slew of budget smartphones and tablets in order to help itself gain a strong footing in the budget tablet arena in the country. Amidst all the hype around Micromax launching its new brand of smartphones, it has launched the iBall Andi 3G Q7218 voice calling tablet for Rs 6,499 in the country. It is a basic tablet with a 7-inch display and a quad-core chipset from Mediatek and runs on Android 4.4 KitKat which is a good thing.

iBall Andi 3G Q7218 Tablet Specifications

  • 7-inch display with a resolution of 800 x 600 pixels.
  • 1.3GHz quad-core Mediatek processor, ARM Cortex A7 architecture, 512MB RAM
  • 8GB of internal storage, expandable up to additional 32GB via microSD card slot
  • 2-megapixel rear-facing camera and a VGA front-facing camera
  • 3G HSPA+ (voice calling abilities), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth 4.0 and USB OTG for connectivity
  • 2,500 mAh battery

The iBall Andi 3G Q7218 tablet is priced at Rs. 6,499, but you can get it for around R.s 5,500-6,000 across various e-commerce websites in India. The tablet comes across as a decent rival to the Asus Fonepad 7 (2014) which is one of the better budget tablets but the RAM capacity bogs it down. However, it has 3G HSPA+ with calling abilities to make up for the lost ground. It is a good tablet but we doubt if it will be able to make a mark for itself.
