As promised earlier, OnePlus has finally set its foot in India. The OnePlus One has been launched in India with a price tag of Rs 21,999 for the 64GB variant. The device won't be available in 16GB storage variant. It will be sold exclusively through Amazon India via a much criticised invite-based system as of now, but the company will switch to a pre-order system sometime in 2015.

OnePlus One features a 5.5-inch Full HD IPS LCD display, runs Android 4.4.4 KitKat (Cyanogen OS as of now),a 2.5GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, Adreno 330 GPU, 3GB RAM, 64GB storage, 13-megapixel camera with 4K DCI video recording, 5-megapixel front-facing camera, and a 3,100 mAh battery. It is compatible with 4G LTE networks in India, thanks to inbuilt FDD-LTE and TD-LTE radios. It will compete with the likes of the Xiaomi Mi 4 and the HTC Desire 820.

There is no mention of Cyanogen OS on the official product page for india. The product specifications on the page covers every detail except the operating system that the phone runs on. The news that Cyanogen has abandoned OnePlus in India because of their exclusive deal with Micromax has already created much splash on the Internet. OnePlus One users in India will not receive any updates from Cyanogen. OnePlus has announced that they will provide its in-house Android 5.0 Lollipop based ROM, replacing CyanogenMod on the device sometime in February 2015. Enthusiasts can try out a beta version of stock Android 5.0 based ROM in December.

The OnePlus One will be up for grabs today exclusively for those who have an invitation. Only 20,000 units of the device will be available at the start, with more to be added later. The company has a vision to have 25 walk-in service centres all over the country. India is their primary market outside of China where OnePlus has its official presence with General Manager Vikas Agarwal heading the team.
