Lava has added yet another calling tablet to its line-up. The Lava IvoryS is a 3G equipped voice-calling tablet that comes at a price of Rs 8,499.
This Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean based tablet comes with a 7 inch touchscreen with a resolution of 1024 x 600. It is powered by a 1.3 GHz dual-core MediaTek MT8312 processor with a Mali-400 GPU and 1 GB of RAM. There is 4 GB of ROM which can be expanded using a microSD card slot. There is a 3.2 megapixel primary camera on the back while a VGA camera on the front for video calling. A 2,800 mAh battery provides the power to juice this tablet.
Other tablets in the same price range are Micromax Funbook Mini P410 and HCL ME Y2 which are equipped with pretty much similar hardware specifications with variations in internal storage and camera resolution. According to us, there is nothing worth notable in this device but that is true with almost all the other competitors below the price of Rs 10,000. Neither the hardware is exciting nor the operating system is the latest. But that might be due to MediaTek chipset being used and they haven't provided Android 4.4 KitKat support yet.
