While the launch of Sony Xperia Z2 has been delayed, we've already started getting some details of the Xperia Z2 Compact. The images of the back panel of the Sony Xperia Z2 has been leaked on Chinese blog Weibo. As seen in the image, it looks very similar to the original Xperia Z2 and comes in purple colour variant as well.
As seen on the Xperia Z1 Compact, it had the exact same hardware and features as the Xperia Z1 but with a smaller screen and compact design. So we can almost guesstimate that the Sony Xperia Z2 Compact might come with the exact same hardware and features as the upcoming Xperia Z2 except the screen size and resolution. If you've forgotten about the Xperia Z2, apart from the IP58 water proof certification, it comes with Android 4.4 KitKat, 5.2 inch IPS LCD screen, 20.7MP Exmor RS camera, 4K video recording, Qualcomm Snapdragon 801 processor, 3GB of RAM and a 3200 mAh battery.
The Sony Xperia Z1 Compact was released last month in India and it was very well received by the experts around the world. There is no word about its launch date yet but as per previous data, it might launch in 4-6 months after the launch of Xperia Z2.
