Viavi Launches AI-Powered Automation Management and Orchestration Platform, Vamos
Testing and assurance vendor Viavi Solutions has introduced the Viavi Automation Management and Orchestration System (VAMOS), an AI-powered platform designed to optimise wireless and cloud network testing. Part of the Nitro Wireless portfolio, Vamos enables service providers, network equipment manufacturers, and labs to reduce costs and accelerate time-to-market by automating test campaigns, Viavi said Friday.

Key Features and Benefits

"VAMOS is an intelligent automation platform that incorporates AI/ML capabilities to enable wireless and cloud service providers, network equipment manufacturers, and their ecosystems to reduce operational expenses and accelerate time-to-market," Viavi said.

Viavi explained that, with increasing network complexity and the rise of AI, ML, and cloud migration, automation has become critical for managing continuous testing (CT). VAMOS offers customisable workspaces, analytics, and centralised cloud-based execution to enhance hardware utilisation and test accuracy across lab environments.

Integration and Compatibility

Ian Langley, Senior Vice President of Wireless Business Unit, Viavi said: "In initial implementations at major labs, VAMOS has already demonstrated significant reductions in cost per test-hour and increases in hardware utilisation."

The company also mentioned that VAMOS is designed for integration with third-party automation frameworks, expanding its compatibility. Additionally, VAMOS will be integrated into Viavi's VALOR Lab-as-a-Service platform for on-demand, cloud-based testing, supporting 5G and Open RAN testing.

The project is funded by the Public Wireless Supply Chain Innovation Fund, Viavi noted.
