Who Developed Umang?

The Umang application is developed by the Ministry of Electronics Information Technology (MeitY) and National e-Governance Division (NeGD).

How to Setup Umang?

Firstly, the application is already available for download for Android and iOS. You can also download the application by giving a missed call to 97183-97183. Users can access the application in 12 regional languages with English being the default one. The app can be accessed in languages such as Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, Marathi, etc.

After downloading, you need to register in the app using your mobile number. That said, if you want to register your Aadhaar with Umang app, then you should use the same mobile number registered on the Aadhaar. After verifying the mobile number, it will ask for the Aadhaar number. Linking Aadhaar with the application makes the job easier for you because it automatically retrieves the details of you.

Then you need to set up an MPIN like other applications to access the app next time. Whenever you change your mobile phone, you can login using your Aadhaar number, which is the easiest way.

Services Offered by Umang

The primary aim of Umang is to address the issue of multiplicity by bringing all the services offered by the government into a single app. The Umang currently has services such as Digilocker, Aadhaar, Bharat Bill Payment, Pan Services, Rapid Assessment System, etc. As said earlier, the application currently has over 100 services from central and state government.

The Government has set a target of 1200+ services by December 2019, allowing customers to access every service of government from Umang itself.

It is also said that the government will provide customer support every day between 8 AM and 8 PM.
