Reliance Jio Subscribers Now Getting VoWiFi Feature Following Airtel VoWiFi Rollout

The next level in technological advancements when it comes to the calling and network technology is the fifth-generation network technology of course. However, before the rollout of 5G in India, we are getting to see the rollout of another technology from the telecom operators, and that is Voice over Wi-Fi. The Voice over Wi-Fi is a technology which can be of help to the users stuck in situations with poor or no cellular connectivity. In such situations, if the users have a Wi-Fi connection, then they would be able to make a call to anyone in their contact using the Voice over Wi-Fi technology. Currently, we have seen the rollout of the VoWiFi technology from a handful of telecom operators only. While the state-led telecom operator has rolled out the BSNL Wings service, the other private telcos, Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel have also rolled out the VoWiFi service in a limited manner. Last time we reported about Voice over Wi-Fi technology, it was for Bharti Airtel users. However, now we have come to know that Reliance Jio is also testing VoWiFi in new regions.

Reliance Jio VoWiFi Feature in Maharashtra

As per the Twitter user, @jayesh_mutha87 Reliance Jio VoWiFi feature seems to be available in the Nashik region in the Maharashtra circle. The user also shared screenshots of the Voice Over Wi-Fi feature which Reliance Jio is offering to the users. It is worth noting that the screenshots shared by the users are of iOS, on an Apple phone. This means that similar to the Bharti Airtel VoWiFi feature, the Reliance Jio VoWiFi is also available only on select phones. This means that the subscribers of Reliance Jio, who are on specific phones only will only be able to use VoWiFi.
