Reliance Jio No Longer Offering Preview Offer to New JioFiber Users

Reliance Jio is currently focussing on adding more JioFiber customers across the country. Up until now, Reliance Jio offered 'Preview Offer' to the customers in various locations, but that has ended now as every new JioFiber user will have to choose a paid plan to avail the services. In addition, existing JioFiber users who are on the Preview Offer are being migrated to paid plans and the company is even providing Set-Top Box to paid plan users in some places. For the unaware, Reliance Jio offered Preview plan before the commercial launch of JioFiber. As part of the JioFiber Preview Offer, customers enjoyed 100 Mbps plan with 1.1TB FUP every month at no extra cost. Even after the commercial launch, Jio offered Preview Offer for at least two months, but now, the company is only offering paid plans to the new users.

Reliance JioFiber New Customers Can Now Choose Only Paid Plans

Before the commercial launch of JioFiber, everyone expected that the Mukesh Ambani-led ISP would disrupt the broadband industry as well similar to what it did back in 2016 with the telecom industry. But that wasn't the case as JioFiber broadband plans were lukewarm and all the plans come with a monthly FUP limit which did not impress several users. Reliance Jio Preview plan users were enjoying 100 Mbps speeds and 1.1TB FUP limit every month, but there's no such paid plan offered by the company.

Right now, Reliance Jio is no longer offering Preview Offer to the new users and they will have to shell out at least Rs 699 (excluding taxes) every month for the paid plan. We have confirmed this news via JioFiber marketing/installation team in Hyderabad city. Several other users who recently got a JioFiber connection also said the same on social media platforms like Twitter and Facebook.

JioFiber new customers will also have to pay Rs 2,500 as one-time charges of which Rs 1,500 will be refunded at the time of disconnection and Rs 1,000 will be non-refundable installation charges. New JioFiber users will also get a 2.4GHz Wi-Fi router and the ONT box. Reliance Jio is yet to start providing its 4K Set-Top Box to the new/existing users in Hyderabad for now.

JioFiber Preview Plan Users are Being Migrated to Paid Plans

In other news, Reliance Jio is now converting all the Preview plan users to paid plans to streamline the platform. Aforesaid, Jio offered a Preview plan to the users before the commercial launch and the company just took one-time charges from the users. Users who are on the JioFiber Preview offer are now being provided with an option to migrate to a paid plan or disconnect the services and get the partial refund amount.

While some users are migrating to paid plans, the majority of them are disconnecting the connection due to the sub-par JioFiber broadband plans. JioFiber plans are not at all competitive in the industry as Internet Service Providers like Airtel Xstream Fibre, ACT Fibernet and other local operators are delivering better overall plans at the same rates.

Everyone is expecting that Reliance Jio may come up with new JioFiber broadband plans in the coming days, but we don't think the ISP will introduce any more plans at least for the next six months. That said, Jio will soon announce its partnerships with OTT service providers and the subscriptions being offered to JioFiber paid plan users.
