MTNL Launches Ganesh Utsav Special Recharge

Mumbai and Maharashtra’s biggest festival Ganesh Utsav has some reason to cheer, India’s first 3G Mobile service operator Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd (MTNL), toady announced the launch of ‘Ganesh Utsav Special Recharge’ for its ‘Trump’ prepaid service subscribers (2G and 3G) in Mumbai telecom circle.

MTNL introduces 2 ‘Ganesh Utsav’ special E-Recharge, priced at Rs. 111 and Rs.888. The E Top Up-111 offers core talk time of Rs.121 while with E Top Up-888, subscribers will get BUMBER talktime Rs 1111.

The offer is available from the beginning of Ganesh Chaturthi – 01.09.2011 to 11.09.2011 through e-recharge and on-line recharge only. For more details dial 1503 or 9869012345 (toll free from MTNL) or visit any MTNL CSC across Mumbai.

IT is unfortunate that the 3G bandwagon faces rudimentary inconsistencies. The pre-3G era phones, especially from the MAHARAJA of Cell phones, NOKIA have had come up with pieces with WCDMA/GSM- DUAL MODE (network)compatibility of 3G. However with the introduction HSDPA sets cell phones work only in UMTS mode. Importantly 2G signals rarely fit in the scope while in UMTS mode hence intriguing disconnection problems. Since HSDPA phones yet to catch up market space, this compatibility problems really proves to be a hurdle in 3G penetration.
