Motorola Sold Over 1 Lakh Units of Moto E4 Plus Within 24 Hours on Flipkart; Creates a New Record

Motorola recently launched the Moto E4 Plus smartphone in India, and the device went on for sale via Flipkart yesterday. Priced competitively at Rs. 9,999, Motorola has put the device against the likes of Lenovo K6 Power and Xiaomi Redmi Note 4. Everyone expected that the device would fail miserably due to the usage of lacklustre MediaTek MT6737 chip.

However, Flipkart today announced that it had sold over one lakh units of the Moto E4 Plus within 24 hours. Following the midnight launch on July 12, Flipkart sold at a rate of over 580 units per minute (for the first 60 mins). Close to 1.5 lakh customers showed interest in the product by visiting the product page in the first hour of going live.

The press statement released by Flipkart says that “The run up to the launch and sale was driven by an innovative marketing campaign from Flipkart, seamlessly combining social media and offline activation. In the 3-day long campaign, an innovatively designed, first of its kind “Mobile-Mobile Charger”- vans fitted with multiple charging points – travelled across Bangalore reaching out to customers with low battery woes.”

And the company claims that people could tweet #NeedPowerPlus and find out the location of the van. The campaign connected back to the Moto E4 Plus by showcasing it as a permanent solution to low battery problems thanks to its 5000mAh battery. Overall, the campaign reached out to over 45 million people on social channels with impressions of over 71 million. By this way, Flipkart promoted the device, which paid off very well.

Furthermore, among the customers buying Moto E4 Plus, approximately 3% customers also used the consumer-friendly affordability initiative on Flipkart – BuyBack Guarantee. As part of the BuyBack Guarantee program, customers were offered a BuyBack price of Rs. 4000 on the Moto E4 Plus if exchanged within 6-8 months of purchase.

For the unaware, the Moto E4 Plus boasts of a 5.5-inch HD display with a resolution of 720×1280 pixels. The device is powered by the octa-core 64-bit MediaTek MT6737 chipset, along with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage. The phone also comes with a dedicated microSD card slot.

There’s a 13MP rear camera with LED flash and a 5MP front-facing camera. The phone runs on Android 7.1.1 Nougat with Google Assistant pre-installed. The USP of the phone is its 5000mAh battery under-the-hood, rated to deliver two days of battery life with moderate usage.

Motorola is long lasting with good ASS.Yes its a chinese product.If we start bycotting chinese mobiles we would not left with a GSM phone forget smartphone, even SRT phone also isn’t a 100% indian mobile.We cannot even manufacture GSM mobiles with 100% indian components.
