The smartphone comes with a 5-inch FWVGA display with a resolution of 854 x 480 pixels, and is powered by a 1.3 GHz quad-core processor coupled with 768MB of RAM. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop, and has 4GB of internal storage, which can be further expanded up to 32GB via micros card. In the imaging department, the device sports a 5-megapixel fixed-focus primary camera with LED flash, along with a 2-megapixel front-facing camera. The Canvas Spark 2 supports connectivity features such as dual-SIM, 3G, Wi-F, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, and is backed by a 1,800 mAh battery.

It features a plethora of pre-loaded apps such as Scandid, Kindle, Hotstar, Clean Master, Firstouch language solution, Swiftkey, Snapdeal, and many more. The Canvas Spark 2 is a successor to the Canvas Spark, which was launched in April with a 4.7-inch qHD display and an 8-megapixel primary camera. Micromax touts the Canvas Spark 2 as India’s most affordable 3G smartphone with Android 5.1 Lollipop.

Commenting on the launch, Vineet Taneja, CEO, Micromax said,“The Canvas Spark proved to be a huge success for Micromax, selling over half a million units in less than two months of its launch. With the Canvas Spark 2, we are yet again reaffirming our commitment to massify the smartphone and Internet usage in the country. Currently, smartphone penetration stands at 12% in the country and 3G adoption is also barely 10%, which presents a huge opportunity to upgrade. We believe that the e-commerce channel is also expanding and the 3-4K category will be the next frontier. Micromax with its strong brand presence and great product offering focused on democratizing technology, has historically cemented itself as the most preferred brand for the mass smartphone segment. With this launch, we are looking at adding a further impetus to this and drive the overall entry into smartphone category.”

In same price lenovo offer 4g Micromax can do better than this .

Not a good phone with the specs released. Lollipop had storage issues on Internal Card and unless Micromax has fixed that to have the apps and data move over to SD, only then it makes a value proposition. I am hardcore Micromax fan but only reason not to adopt it for Lollipop had been the Storage issues 😉

SD Storage problem is a severe one in KitKat only and small issue (can be solved via an app) in 5.0 Lollipop.. But its solved in Android 5.1 Lollipop onwards..

So its always better to avoid KitKat phones now…
