Lava has announced two new entry-level Android smartphones today, the Iris X1 Mini and the Iris X1 Grand. Both these devices are variants of the Lava Iris X1, and are priced at Rs. 4,348 and Rs. 7,326 respectively.

The Lava Iris X1 Mini features a 4-inch IPS LCD display, a quad-core processor, 512MB RAM, 4GB storage, and a 1,750 mAh battery. It is equipped with a 5-megapixel primary camera with a PureCel sensor, and a VGA front-facing secondary camera. It runs Android 4.4.2 KitKat, has two SIM card slots, and is powered by a 1,750 mAh battery.

The Lava Iris X5 Grand on the other hand, has a 5-inch display, however, the resolution stays the same, further dropping down the screen sharpness. It runs Android 4.4 KitKat, but will receive Android 5.0 Lollipop. Under the hood, it features a 1.3GHz quad-core processor, 1GB RAM, 8GB storage, and is powered by a 2,200 mAh battery. On the imaging front, it is equipped with an 8-megapixel primary camera and a 2-megapixel secondary camera.

  • 2,200mAh battery

Both these smartphones will go on sale starting February. The Lava Iris X1 Mini comes in three colour variants; ink black, white silver, and white gold, while the Lava Iris Grand would be available in White-Silver, White-Gold, and Black colours.
