Idea Cellular is apparently looking to make up for the subscribers it lost in the last two months. The operator recently unveiled two plans of Rs. 198 and Rs. 357 for its existing users, and now, it’s offering a data-centric plan, which offers just data benefits without any voice calling benefits.
This new plan from Idea Cellular is priced at Rs. 248 and it’s valid only for select Idea customers across the country. What does this plan offer? Coming to the benefits of this plan, it gives 1GB data per day without any voice calling benefits for 28 days.
The data can be either 4G/3G/2G. So, if you’re eligible for the plan, you can just recharge it without worrying about what device you’re actually using. This is probably the cheapest plan from any telecom operator in India to offer 1GB data per day for 28 days.
Earlier this year, when Reliance Jio announced the Rs. 309 and Rs. 509 plan providing benefits of 1GB data per day for 84 days, Idea Cellular came up with a Rs. 297 plan, under which the operator offered 1GB data per day and Idea to Idea voice calls for 70 days.
However, the Rs. 297 plan was withdrawn very quickly, and the operator introduced several other tariff plans to compete with Reliance Jio and Bharti Airtel. With this tariff plan, Idea Cellular is charging just Rs. 8.85 per GB. A recent report said that per GB data cost will come to below Rs. 10 in India, which is already happening with plans such as Reliance Jio’s Rs. 399, Airtel’s Rs. 399, and Idea Cellular’s new Rs. 248 plan.
As said earlier, Idea Cellular recently introduced a Rs. 198 and Rs. 357 plan for its users in Andhra Pradesh and Himachal Pradesh. The Rs. 198 plan gives 1GB data and unlimited voice calls for 28 days, whereas the Rs. 357 plan offers 1GB data per day and unlimited voice calls for 28 days.
Furthermore, we don’t have information about the validity of the Rs. 248 plan on the pan-India basis. Are you eligible for this new plan from Idea Cellular? Let us know by commenting below.
