After expanding 4G services in 10 circles, Idea Cellular is all set to launch 4G in Himachal Pradesh. According to sources, the company has plans to launch high speed 4G services in September there. The company which has 4.8 Mhz of liberalized spectrum in 1800 Mhz band would use narrow band LTE technology to offer 4G services to its customers in the region.

An Idea network engineer working with the 4G project said 'The company has already tested 4G successfully in some places and got great 4G speed during test situations' However in normal conditions, speeds would be like 10-20 Mbps, he added.

Another person familiar with such developments, told us that initially the company would cover major city parts and residential complexes. And later during commercial launch, they would roll out to more areas in several phases.

As of now we haven't got the launch schedule as the company is yet to set a date for the launch. But we can expect them to announce it shortly after offering 4G SIM upgradation to their customers to make them 4G ready.
