BSNL revises monthly charges of landline plans pan India

BSNL , the largest service provider of wired landline services in India has just revised its fixed monthly charges for the plans on offer on a pan India basis. The tariffs have been revised for rural and urban areas. Let us take a look at what BSNL has revised:

Rural General Plan:

  • The existing monthly tariff of Rs 70/month has been revised to Rs 90/month but that is followed by an increase in the free calls to BSNL network from the current 75 to 90.

Economy Plan:

  • The existing monthly tariff of Rs 300/month has been revised to Rs 330/month but there is no increase in the number of free calls and you still get 225 metered call units after the revised tariffs (to all other networks).

Special Plan:

  • The existing monthly tariff of Rs 425/month has been revised to Rs 450/month and the number of free metered call units remains the same at 400 (to all other networks).

All the revised tariffs will come into effect from 1st October 2014.

The economy and special plans are mid costly plans where most of them are in the GENERAL Rs.195 (old Rs.180 + tax) plan or using COMBO broadband plans. So who is bothered about these tariff hike?. Similarly BSNL has increased the rental for modem. Who is using the modem provided by BSNL?. I think 99.99% customers are using their own modem. So no need to become tense. The only hit for BSNL broadband users is the increase in the rental for broadband plans – Rs.800 to Rs.825, Rs.900 to Rs.925 and also in the basic 1 GB plan. But Rs.25… Read more »

Those who are complaining BSNL landline tarifs, it is for them. recently, Telecom Minister mr. Ravi Shankar Prasad gave reply to a Parliamentary question that BSNL loss in Landline business is almost 15000 crores though overall loss is only 7065 crores loss. Which means in case BSNL stops landline business like other operators ,( most of them have either no landline business or in the name of landline business, they are operating WLL or almost non existent ) , BSNL would have run in 8000 crores profit. But Govt. will not allow BSNL to stop Landline business either though most… Read more »

I think no operators in the world can provide a landline business at RS 90 /- PER MONTH IN RURAL of each and every corner of INDIA . This Rs 95/- covers the Telephone instrumnet to be repalced in 2 or 3 times in a month besides the complaint they booked. 3 or 4 times a man just go to their home and rectified the complaints and if the complaints are in the under ground cabale , then the assistance of 2 or 3 persons unskilled work for digging it if it is in the tar road junction ,( nearly… Read more »

Off topic. Vodafone is one of the biggest cheaters. Dial *444# on your Vodafone SIM, select the 5th option for Daily Bonus, now select the 4th option for 25 MB mobile data, select 1 to activate and you receive a confirmation message saying thank you for activating 20 MB GPRS plan valid for one day. WTH? Vodafone advertising mobile data 25 MB for a day and giving only 20 MB. Please telecom talk make a big issue out of this so fraud companies like Vodafone learn a lesson!!

OMG! So true Gunda. Vodafone is making fool out of its customers. Such fraud are happening in the brightest daylight. Vodafone advertising 25 MB mobile data for 5 Rs and giving only 20 MB. I know 5 MB isn’t a big deal but still, this is a case of false advertising to fool customers. Let’s all raise voice against this or tomorrow more and more people will fall victim to Vodafone’s tactics to fool people..
