BSNL to launch Independence Day offer with 10% more data, full talktime in recharges

To celebrate the 70th Independence Day, the state-run telecom operator Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL) has announced an array of exciting offers for both prepaid and postpaid customers in all circles. The offers will be available from August 1 – 31, 2016.

To begin with, all BSNL customers will get full talk time on the top-up recharge of Rs. 70. This offer will be available only from August 15th to August 22nd. All other offers mentioned below will be available from 1st August to 31st August.

Additional Data on STVs

The service provider provides additional data on prepaid 3G/2G data special tariff vouchers (STVs). To say, the data STV of Rs. 291 (valid in North, East and West Zone) will get a bonus data of 0.2GB, which takes the total free data for the voucher to 2.4GB instead of the earlier 2.2GB. The validity of this freebie is 28 days. The Rs. 291 pack for South zone will also provide the same 2.4GB data, however, is valid for 30 days.

The Rs. 444 pack gets a bonus of 0.25GB, taking its total free data to 3.25GB. The validity is 60 days. The Rs. 561 pack, which used to offer 5GB of free data usage, will now provide 5.35GB. The validity of this freebie is 30 days. The Rs. 821 pack, which offers 6GB of free data will now give 6.5GB, adding a 0.5GB as a bonus. The validity of freebie remains 60 days. The Rs. 1099 pack, which offered 9GB of data, will now give 9.75GB of data from August 1. The validity remains at 60 days. The highest STV, of Rs. 1949, gets a bonus of 1GB, taking its total offering to 22GB. The validity is for 90 days.

Extended Validity on 3G/2G data combo voucher

Another offer is on the extra validity on 3G/2G data combo voucher. The data combo voucher of Rs. 3099, which was earlier valid for 30 days, will have revised validity of 60 days, which can be availed only in August. The total bundle usage remains the same.

Waiver of 1 Month FMC for migration from prepaid to postpaid

For those customers who port from BSNL prepaid to postpaid will get a waiver of one month fixed monthly charges (FMC). However, the waiver is allowed only if the customer migrates to Plan 225 and higher. To avail this offer, the customer has to give the rentals of 2nd and 3rd month in advance.

Offer for Retailers

Besides the subscribers, the state-run operator has also decided to provide offers to retailers. The BSNL retailers will get Rs. 5 as OTF (on the fly) on STV/Combo vouchers with MRP Rs.201 to Rs. 299. Rs. 10 as OTF, on STV/Combo vouchers with MRP Rs. 301 and more.

Please note that the offers will come into effect only from 1st August 2016 and will be available till the aforementioned dates.
