Rather than giving my money to private companies run by corrupt businessmen, I’d like to go back to BSNL, but they make things so difficult! They have a decent network in Kolkata and acceptable service (by sarkari standards), but the landline prices are way off the mark, unlike mobile, where BSNL’s prices are significantly cheaper than the private operators. Broadband prices are the way they are, because the telecom babus and their political masters are paid off by the big telcos who want to keep charging 500 – 1,500 per month for 1Mbps – 4Mbps connections. Meanwhile, [email protected]’s 50Mbps connection… Read more »

Lol, people and their conspiracy theories. BSNL has proficiency in inefficiency, others don’t have to spend time and effort to bring it down. BSNL has been doing that itself. BSNL is a telco run by people who cannot think beyond lame 90 day promotional plans with senseless pricing and illogical benefits. I would disagree. I think AirTel is perfect example of corrupt private company making windfall gains, providing crappy services, extorting money from customers. Its management befools the shareholders saying it has the fastest 4G service and making a case for spending millions on advertising.

Under the expert leadership of Mr Narendra Modi and Mr Manoj Sinha, I can guarantee the fact that BSNL can overtake incumbent players at least in the field of landline and BB.
