
India’s broadband subscriber base crossed the landmark 1 billion (100 crore) mark in November 2025, reflecting the rapid expansion of digital connectivity across the country. Over the past decade, the number of broadband users has grown more than sixfold. The subscriber base stood at 131.49 million (13.15 crore) at the end of November 2015 and rose steadily to 1 billion (100.37 crore) by the end of November 2025, underscoring the sustained growth in internet adoption nationwide.
Broadband Subscribers Grow Over Six Times in 10 Years
"In the last 10 years, the Broadband subscriber base in India has increased by more than six times. There were 131.49 million (13.15 crore) Broadband subscribers at the end of November 2015, which grew to 1 billion (100.37 crore) at the end of November 2025," the Ministry of Communications said on Wednesday, December 31, 2025.
TRAI Data Highlights Sustained Internet Adoption
"As per the information received from 1488 operators for the month of November 2025, the total number of broadband subscribers increased from 999.81 million at the end of October 2025 to 1003.65 million at the end of November 2025 with a monthly growth rate of 0.38 percent," according to the Telecom Subscription Data as on November 30, 2025, released by the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) on December 31, 2025.
