Airtel offers 4G trials in Manipal, Udupi and Tumkur, exclusive partnership with Samsung and Flipkart

Today Bharti Airtel has rolled out 4G trials at three places – Manipal, Udupi and Tumkur in Karnataka. The customers in these places can now access superfast internet that will enable them to download up to 10 movies in less than 30 minutes, connect multiple devices or watch HD videos without buffering.

As an offer, customer can now avail 4G for the price of 3G. To avail the free upgrade, Airtel customers with 4G-ready mobile devices can walk into the nearest Airtel store and switch to 4G SIM.

Commenting on the trial launch, Airtel Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Karnataka C. Surendran said that the company is excited to deliver the service to the customers who show an increasing propensity for consuming data services. “For us, customers are at the very core of everything we do and delivering a compelling service experience for them is our foremost priority. We want our existing customers to be the first ones to enjoy the Airtel 4G experience and are offering them a free upgrade to Airtel 4G at the same price as 3G. We are committed to build a truly world-class 4G network and thus look forward to our customers’ valuable feedback”, he said.

Besides, Airtel has also launched a partnership with Samsung and Flipkart for 4G devices. According to the partnership, chosen retail stores of Samsung will shortly facilitate easy Airtel 4G SIM swap for customers buying 4G mobile phones. Few Samsung mobiles come with 4G double data offers. This offer is available for the customers with Samsung Galaxy S6, Galaxy S6 Edge, Galaxy A7, Galaxy A5, J5 and J7 mobile devices. In addition, Samsung will begin to offer bundled Airtel 4G SIMs with selected 4G devices.

A similar double data offer is available with Flipkart as well, for selected handsets. Few 4G devices sold on Flipkart, from prominent brands like Samsung, Xiaomi, Motorola, Lenovo, Asus and Huawei will come with Airtel 4G SIM. Flipkart will also guide non-Airtel customers on simple steps to shift to Airtel on buying 4G devices.
