SoundHound AI and Lucid Motors Unveil Generative AI-Integrated In-Vehicle Voice Assistant

SoundHound AI announced on Thursday that Lucid Motors has launched Lucid Assistant, a hands-free voice assistant designed to enhance the in-car experience of its electric vehicles (EVs). The new assistant, powered by SoundHound Chat AI, offers drivers and passengers a more intuitive way to control vehicle functions using natural language commands, according to the official release.

Lucid Assistant

The Lucid Assistant responds to the wake phrase “Hey Lucid” and allows users to ask questions, control navigation, and access vehicle features like the car manual. It also delivers real-time information on weather, sports, and stocks, all without requiring a cellular connection. According to the official release, this functionality is powered by SoundHound’s Chat AI platform, which integrates generative AI to provide fast, accurate, and contextually relevant answer.
