Nokia and Dixon Technologies Partner to Manufacture 5G FWA Devices in India
Dixon’s subsidiary, Dixon Electro Appliances Private Limited (Dixon Electro), has entered into an agreement with Nokia Solutions and Networks OY (Nokia) for the development and manufacturing of fixed broadband devices in India. “Demand for fixed broadband services in India has surged in recent years, driven by the rapid adoption of Fiber to the Home (FTTH) and 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) technologies. Dixon Electro and Nokia have announced the commencement of manufacturing of Fixed Broadband Devices in India,” Dixon said in an exchange filing.

Dedicated Manufacturing Facility in Noida

The collaboration between Dixon Electro and Nokia will produce GPON, 5G FWA, and Mesh Wi-Fi devices capable of delivering up to one gigabit per second per home.

Dixon Electro said it has established a dedicated manufacturing facility in Noida with a production capacity of up to 10 million devices annually, supporting the growing demand for broadband connectivity and creating approximately 3,000 new jobs.

Nokia Adds 5G FWA and Wi-Fi Beacons

With this initiative, Nokia now adds 5G Fixed Wireless Access (FWA) and Wi-Fi beacons to provide a complete in-home broadband toolkit for Indian operators, Dixon noted.
