AIS to Launch GPU-as-a-Service with Singtel and Bridge Alliance
Thai operator Advanced Info Service (AIS) has announced its readiness to offer GPU-as-a-Service to corporate clients. This service is made possible through a partnership with Singtel and Bridge Alliance, which has over 34 members globally. The collaboration includes telecom operators in Malaysia and Indonesia, namely Maxis and Telkomsel. This initiative makes AIS the first provider in the region to offer such services, enhancing the capacity of enterprises to effectively harness AI technology. This announcement follows Singtel's February declaration about launching its GPUaaS later this year, AIS said.

Expansion Plans and Regional Adoption

Powered by Nvidia's AI computing technology, the service allows enterprises to deploy AI applications quickly and cost-effectively, meeting the growing demand for AI processing across the region. Maxis in Malaysia and Telkomsel in Indonesia are among the first to adopt this service.

As part of the agreement, Bridge Alliance member operators (BMOs) will gain access to GPUaaS offerings from Singtel. As GPU needs expand in these countries, more GPU clusters will be launched to accelerate and scale businesses. Bridge Alliance will assist BMOs in fast-tracking their go-to-market strategies and effectively drive the success of GPUaaS offerings for enterprises, the official release said.

AIS said, "Providing AI with a cloud ‘GPU-as-a-Service’ model will enable enterprises to embrace the technology efficiently and scalably. AIS strongly believes that the GPUaaS provided by Singtel and Bridge Alliance, combined with AIS's capabilities, will co-create sustainable digital economic value for businesses in Thailand."

Maxis added, "We look forward to being the first telco to bring GPUaaS to businesses here in Malaysia."

NVIDIA Technology Powers New Service

At launch, Singtel's GPUaaS service will initially be powered by Nvidia H100 Tensor Core GPU clusters, with plans to expand to Nvidia's GB200 AI Servers. The service will extend to run in new sustainable, hyper-connected, AI-ready data centers by Nxera, Singtel’s regional data center business, across Singapore, Thailand, Indonesia, and Malaysia when operations begin from mid-2025 onwards.
