Airtel Business Nigeria announced that it has successfully set up a satellite dish in Lagos for Eutelsat OneWeb's LEO satellite broadband service. This installation brings high-speed internet to remote areas, enhancing connectivity across Nigeria, the company said. The newly installed dish will provide internet at up to 100 Mbps with latency of less than 100 milliseconds.

Training for Sustainable Growth
In a LinkedIn post on Friday, Airtel Business Nigeria also mentioned that it has trained its local team to manage the technology, ensuring sustainable growth and innovation for the future.
The deployment is part of a broader agreement between Airtel Africa and OneWeb, which was signed in November 2022, before the company officially became Eutelsat OneWeb in September last year.

Expanding Services Across the Continent
According to OneWeb, this strategic agreement will help deliver OneWeb's high-speed, low-latency LEO connectivity services to government and enterprise customers across wide areas of the continent. OneWeb and Airtel Africa will also provide critical backhaul in unserved and underserved regions, OneWeb said at the time of announcement.
