RCOM Initiates “Go Green” Campaign

Reliance Communications (RCOM), India’s largest and only telecom service provider to offer nationwide GSM and CDMA services today launched ‘Go Green’ a tree planting initiative in Bangalore as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program.

Over 500 saplings including Neem, Honge and Silver Oak were planted in the premises of Government High School, Immadihalli, in Whitefield Bangalore. The RCOM ‘Go Green’ Campaign was inaugurated by Mr. J Crasta, Co - Chairman - Southern Regional Council (ASSOCHAM) and Ex President - FKCCI.




The program was also supported by Art of Living Foundation. The AOL Foundation added that “Young volunteers of WAYE (World Alliance for Youth Empowerment) empowered by Art of Living have joined hands for the event to plant and adopt trees.

Mr R Swaminathan, Karnataka Hub head – RCOM said “We are committed to conserving the environment in and around us with many more such initiatives. This is the second consecutive year RCOM has embarked on the responsibility towards a greener earth, the earlier initiative being planting 500 saplings at the Bangalore University Campus at Gnana Bharathi in Kengeri last year. With the rising global warming, every step that each one of us can take to preserve the environment by adopting eco-friendly measures will contribute and make a difference." he added.
