Vodafone Idea’s financial situation is known to all, and amidst all the worries, the telecom operator has pulled a new surprise out of the hat for its subscribers. Vodafone Idea’s postpaid plans have received a major revamp with some heavy benefits, premium REDX postpaid plans making their way into the Vodafone Idea portfolio. It’s worth noting that this introduction by Vodafone Idea can basically be termed as a tariff hike, as the baseline tariff for the subscription to Vodafone Idea REDx plan has gone up significantly.

Vodafone Idea Old REDX Plan of Rs 1,099

It’s worth noting that Vodafone Idea is still offering the baseline Rs 1,099 REDX plan in a limited edition manner. Under this plan, the subscriber gets the benefit of unlimited data and calling in which the data is truly unlimited. The total SMS benefits remain at only 100 per month. Besides this, the subscribers get access to airport lounges and free Netflix and Amazon Prime subscriptions. They will also get access to Prime Music and Vi Movies and TV along with one international roaming trip in a year which is worth Rs 2,999 as per Vi. The Rs 1,099 REDX postpaid plan is only for a single member; if you want a REDX plan for more members, the prices only go up. The OTT benefits also include Disney+ Hotstar VIP.

Vodafone New REDX Multi-Member Postpaid Plans

The new REDX plan, which offers 3 members, comes for Rs 1,699. At the same time, the 5 member plan from Vodafone Idea is being offered at Rs 2,299. The unique thing about the multi-membered REDX plan by Vodafone Idea is the lock-in period which means the subscribers will have to be subscribed to these plans for a minimum period of 6 months, and if they leave the plans in between they will be charged Rs 3,000 exit fee.

The rest of the benefits remain the same for the multi membered plans as well. This means the subscribers get unlimited data and all the OTT benefits and international roaming benefits. In hindsight, this move by Vodafone Idea appears to be an attempt at boosting its finances via its postpaid, high-paying subscribers, which are likely to give a slight bump to its Average Revenue Per User (ARPU).

Vodafone Idea Hikes Add-On Member Plan

Vodafone Idea has removed Rs 799 family postpaid plan and is now further offering the Rs 149 add-on plan for new users for Rs 249. So this is a direct tariff hike from the company, which means it is targeting higher ARPU.
