Xiaomi has been at the forefront of innovation and smartphone manufacturing in the past few years. The company has established its stronghold in the global markets thanks to its impressive offerings and the affordable price ranges. Now Xiaomi is here with its latest flagship phone, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 which has been launched in China a couple of days ago. This new phone by Xiaomi sports a very attractive notch-less and bezel-less design and it comes with a pop-up camera which is much similar to the mechanism that we find on the Oppo Find X. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 comes with a lot more improvements in the sliding mechanism as well. With that being said, the phone will also soon debut in India, although it is not explicitly known when. Impeccable Design

Contrary to the Oppo Find X, the Mi MIX 3 comes with a slider mechanism which is much more suited to handle wear and tear is also more resilient. The arrangement is also going to be smoother and rigid as compared to the one on Find X since it comes with neodymium magnets which keeps the slider in place makes it open in a snap. Xiaomi has also asserted that the phone would be able to handle 3,00,000 cycles of sliding.

As for the general aesthetics, the Mi MIX 3 sports the ceramic construction which is iconic of the Mi MIX series of smartphones. This time Xiaomi will also be offering many new colour options for the phone which would include Onyx Black, Jade Green, and Sapphire Blue.

Edge-to-Edge Display

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 sports a 6.39-inch AMOLED display with an aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and it offers an immersive display with crisp visuals and impressive colour reproduction. The phone also boasts of a never-seen-before screen to body ratio of 93.4%, and it is owing to its unique design and the sliding mechanism that the phone can preserve the space of sensors and the front camera which find their way on the sliding mechanism on the back.

Cameras

It’s been hard for smartphone cameras to go beyond the 100-mark score in the DxOMark Mobile camera test. Only a few flagship phones like iPhone XS Max, Huawei P20 Pro, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 and HTC U12+ have managed to cross this barrier, however, now the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 has also joined the ranks of these phones by getting the third spot on this list with the 103-average score and 108 of highest photo score. The Mi MIX 3 comes with a dual rear camera setup of 12MP sensors, and they come loaded with features like hardware multi-frame noise reduction, AI light metering and AI image stabilisation, 4-axis OIS, 4K video recording and 960fps super slow motion.

For selfies, the Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 flaunts a 24MP Sony IMX576 sensor which comes paired with a 2MP depth sensing unit. The front camera also comes equipped with Super Pixel technology which results in better low light images and better clarity.

Performance

The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 packs the powerful Snapdragon 845 processor which comes paired with Adreno 630 GPU. The highlight of the phone is the 10GB RAM which allows the phone to function seamlessly and owing to this power; the phone can handle even the most intensive operations and gaming. There are also going to be 6GB and 8GB RAM options paired with 128GB and 256GB internal storage. On the software front, the phone boots Android 8.1 Oreo-based MIUI with Google ARCore and AI Voice Assistant. The phone also comes with a dedicated Xiao AI button which is able to perform hardware or software level tasks.

Wireless Charger Inside the Retail Box

The last one on this is not a feature of a smartphone, but a sweet move and an industry first from Xiaomi. The Xiaomi Mi MIX 3 packs a 3200mAh battery which comes with fast charging enabled and also comes with 10W wireless charger inside the package. Xiaomi claims that the wireless charging on the Mi MIX 3 is also 30% more efficient as compared to the Mi MIX 2S. The phone also comes with Qi standard support which means that the phone will be compatible with other wireless chargers as well. Until now, no manufacturer bundled a wireless charger inside the retail box, so Xiaomi is the first one to do so.

The price of the smartphone has been set at RMB 3,299 (Rs 34,800) for the 6GB variant, whereas the phone will cost RMB 4,999 (Rs 52,750) for the 10GB Forbidden City Special Edition. The smartphone will go live for sale on November 1st in China, with the preorders beginning today. However, there is no update as to when the phone will be released in India.
