In Kerala, the situation seems to be worsening with every moment. The phenomenon which started with regular rain has grown into a massive crisis with the death toll rising to 80 people. The flood in Kerala has risked many lives, and many remain in danger as we speak. In such perilous times, Bharti Airtel in Kerala has come up with a compassionate gesture to help those who might be stuck in a dangerous situation due to flood. The Sunil Bharti Mittal led telco is providing free of cost services to the people in Kerala to make sure they stay connected even if they are affected by this incident. Under this initiative, Airtel is offering the following services.

Auto Approval of Talk Time

For all prepaid subscribers of Airtel in Kerala, the telco will be approving Rs 30 talk time which will be credited to their accounts automatically. This will ensure that no user is left out of options to contact their loved ones or reach out for help.

Free 1GB data

Airtel will also be crediting the accounts of Airtel prepaid smartphone users with 1GB data so that the users can remain connected via internet during critical times. The better connectivity will also mean that the rescue operations will be able to go on smoothly. The data credited to the users will be valid for seven days.

Extension of bill payment dates

Airtel will be extending the dates for bill payment majorly for postpaid subscribers and also for broadband users so that they aren’t cut out of the network during the flood; this will again ensure that users remain well connected with their loved ones, even if they have not paid their bills or during otherwise non-functioning of services.

Airtel VSAT Deployment

To avail free calling and Wi-Fi facility in public places Airtel will install VSATs at five major relief centres in Kerala. These VSATs will facilitate continuous and heavy volume usage of both data and call facilities at these relief centres.

In addition to this, Airtel along with its partners is attempting to keep the network intact amidst lack of power and disruption in fuel supplies. Also, citizens of Kerala can reach out to select flagship stores in Kerala to charge their phones or to make free calls to their loved ones. These stores will bs spread across Thrissur, Calicut, Malappuram, Kannur, Kottayam, Trivandrum & Ernakulam.
