Finally, a good prepaid tariff revision from Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL). The telecom operator has now revised the popular STV 333 and STV 444 prepaid tariff plans. Guess what, both the plans now offer better benefits than earlier. BSNL is providing voice calling benefits with both these plans now, but it's just unlimited on-net calls, meaning the calls are limited to just BSNL network. Earlier, the same plans offered just data benefits, but now, BSNL is offering voice calling benefits as well, which is a good thing. And the best part is the company did not increase prices of the plans.
The STV 333 prepaid tariff plan now provides unlimited BSNL to BSNL voice calls, 3GB data per day along with a post FUP speed of 80 Kbps and free caller tune for 45 days. Earlier, the plan offered just 3GB data per day with post FUP speed of 80 Kbps for the same 45 days. The STV 333 plan is also known as Triple ACE plan.
And the STV 444 plan is revised to offer unlimited on-net voice calls (BSNL to BSNL), 4GB data per day along with post FUP speed of 80 Kbps and free caller tune for 60 days from the date of recharge. Earlier, the plan offered 4GB data per day for 60 days. The BSNL STV 444 prepaid plan is also known as BSNL Chaukka plan. Do make a note that BSNL did not mention anything about the unlimited on-net voice calling in roaming.
Alongside these two plans, BSNL also revised the STV 448 tariff plan, which now offers unlimited voice calls including roaming calls (except Mumbai & Delhi), 1GB data per day with no mention of post FUP speed, 100 SMS per day and free caller tune for 84 days. The tariff plan is available at different prices in some circles. For example, the same plan is available at Rs 446 in Kerala circle.
All these changes are already effective from today. BSNL also introduced a new postpaid plan of Rs 399 yesterday with unlimited voice calls to any network in the home circle, 30GB data per billing, but it doesn't offer any SMS benefits, which is underwhelming. This new revision to the STV 333 and STV 444 plans from BSNL is an aim to stay in competition with private telecom operators.
