Truecaller, the leader of caller ID identification service today rolled out a new update for its Android app. With this update, Truecaller is adding two new features to the application. Sadly, the new features are available only for Android users at the moment; iOS users have to wait a bit longer to get these features.
The two new features included in the Truecaller v 8.21 is support for themes, and a spam inbox.
Spam Inbox
Truecaller has added a new tab in the SMS section of the application. The new design will allow users to experience a cleaner inbox and pay attention to the SMS that matter most with a spam tab segregating the unwanted messages, which is a useful feature.
Themes
In the same update, Truecaller also added support for new app themes to match every user's identity. This includes new colour combinations, which include colours like royal, coffee, grey, dark, and pitch black.
The themes section is hidden under the appearance section under the app settings menu. Updating a new theme will change the entire user interface colour of the application.
Other upgrades in version 8.21 include reoccurring pro subscriptions, flash messaging themes, mark all as read in block view and the ability to save MMS. The new update also gives the users an option to block & view profile on incoming flash, which is handy. Furthermore, Truecaller has decreased the professional subscription amount to Rs. 30 from the previous Rs. 60, which is also a nice move.
The company at the time of announcing the new update said "Truecaller recently revealed through their Truecaller Insights Special Report, that India receives an overwhelming majority of spam calls. In its strive towards protecting its users from unwanted calls and potential fraud, Truecaller with its new interface is continuing its endeavour to ensure that users are better protected and more aware of incoming spam messages.
The Truecaller v 8.21 is already available to download from the Google Play Store.
