Apple has already sent media invites for its WWDC app developers annual conference scheduled to happen next month. A new report now states that Apple may release upgrades to its MacBook lineup, a move to overcome the competition set by Microsoft recently. Apple did not make any hardware announcements at the WWDC event since 2013. So, it’s interesting to see what Apple is up to this year.

Already the Cupertino giant released new MacBooks with touch bar last year, but Apple is considering this move due to the sub-par sales of MacBooks and iPads in recent times. As per the report, Apple is planning to release three new laptops. The MacBook Pro and 12-inch MacBook will get upgrades with faster Intel Kaby Lake processors and couple of other hardware upgrades as well.
Apple is also considering to launch an update to the MacBook Air 13-inch model, which last upgraded back in 2015. The MacBook Air 13-inch has been the most successful MacBook till date and people are still purchasing it across the globe. Back in 2016, when Apple announced the 12-inch MacBook, everyone thought that it would be killing the versatile MacBook Air series. But, looking at the sales, Apple is looking to make a U-turn and release an upgrade to the same.
However, the upgrades would be done internally to all the three MacBooks, and they look much the same with similar design externally. Apple is also reportedly working on a new chip for the MacBook Pro lineup aiming to reduce the power consumption.
