Speculations are rife about the upcoming Jio’s broadband service in recent times, and Mukesh Ambani in a recent press conference said that the beta trials of the service would be expanded to other cities as well in coming months. And now, a new report from TeleAnalysis says that the service will be rolled to public in June.

As we already know, Jio’s broadband service will be built on Fiber-To-The-Home (FTTH) technology; the company is looking to offer a minimum speed of 100Mbps and revolutionise the market.

“We are doing some trials in various cities, and most trials are successful and ready for commercial roll-out,” an unknown source said to the blog. The source also said to the blog that “By June you will see some development in your city.”

“The executive said the services planned to be offered on Jio Fibre would be like no other. The minimum speed one will get 100 Mbps. Our plans start from 100 Mbps, and it will be the most affordable home broadband service that Indian consumers will ever get,” cites the report.

The source also said that the customers wouldn’t mind at all to pay and use the service, which could mean that Jio will launch the service at cutthroat prices. It is also believed that the company is looking to start various services with the Jio Fiber technology such as home automation products, etc. which was also rumoured earlier.

“For example, it will be having a smart calling feature. What it will offer is all the phones in your home will get virtually connected. Means, if you got a call on the landline, you can receive it on your mobile and vice versa,” revealed the source.

All these services will be offered like an add-on, which means that a customer can either opt into it or not.

In a recent report, it was speculated that Jio is looking to launch services such as home automation, home surveillance, etc. With the home surveillance, Jio is seeking to provide a security system to a user’s home. This service will also be bundled with the Jio Fiber plans.

It is worth noting that this will be the first case of development in India of home automation services using the IoT technology. “The Company continues to make progress on the roll-out of its Fibre to the Home (FTTH) business offering with beta trials initiated in a few locations. It would expand the scope of the beta tests over the next few months,” concludes the source.

Going by this report, Jio is looking to shake the broadband sector in India by aggressive plans and high-speed data like no other ISP offered before. It is also anticipated that Jio will offer the service free for three months under the ‘Welcome Offer.'
