After the infamous tale of Samsung's Galaxy Note7, smartphone manufacturers are taking every step possible to ensure that their devices do not suffer the same fate. In the latest report by Korea Herald, LG has shared the details about the technology that is integrated into the G6 for tackling battery woes. LG touts that it has used copper heat pipes to combat overheating issues. With the help of these heat pipes, the battery on LG G6 will not overheat even at 150 degrees. Heat pipes are usually used in laptops and desktops to disperse heat away from processing units promptly.

As we all know, Samsung is gearing up to launch the Galaxy S8. To have an upper hand on the Galaxy S8, LG is trying to promote the safety label on the G6 to court buyers who have been doubting Samsung after the recall of Galaxy Note7.

Lee Seok-jong, from LG Electronics’ mobile communication operation group, says,“We will significantly improve the safety and quality of our new flagship smartphones as more consumers seek safe smartphones. Furthermore, LG is going to put this smartphone through harsher tests than international standards demand. The battery will be put through temperature tests 15% higher than what the US and Europe require. The phone will also be exposed to piercings, drops and continuous damage that would simulate user wear & tear over time."

Going by the safety claims made by LG, it would be interesting to see the how the LG G6 turns out. LG is most likely to unveil the new flagship next month at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2017.
