Apple has finally released the official build of iOS 10.1 for the general users, which comes integrated with Portrait Mode for the iPhone 7 Plus. The iOS 10.1 preview build was available to developers for quite some time, and now it is up for download for regular iOS users. The update comes with an extensive list of changelogs. It is a successive update to the iOS 10, which was made official last month.
One of the most important amendments brought with the iOS 10.1 is Bluetooth compatibility with third party devices and Portrait Mode inclusion for iPhone 7 Plus's rear camera. With Portrait Mode, the software automatically blurs the backdrop to make the subject clearer. Such effect is popularly known as "Bokeh." The Portrait Mode is limited to the iPhone 7 Plus as it comes with dual lens setup that is capable of capturing high-quality shots. However, here is a little heads up for the iPhone 7 Plus users, even though the feature is now available to general users but it is still in its beta mode. After the iOS 10.1 installation on your iPhone 7 Plus, the camera app will prompt you with a message - "If you'd like to try the beta" when you swipe for the Portrait Mode.
To update your Apple device to iOS 10.1, go to Software Update in Setting. Before going ahead with the installation make sure that your device has enough battery life.
