To counter Jio's live TV streaming app Jio TV, market leader Bharti Airtel has now partnered with Zee Group's Ditto TV which is famous for low cost live tv streaming service.

Jio which offers a host of digital content through its app suite has attracted millions of users towards its network. One of its main attraction is Jio TV which was earlier famous as Jio Play, the TV streaming app offers more than 370 live TV channels with over 50 HD channels with an option to catch up missed shows up to 7 days. For this feature, it already surpassed 10 million downloads on Google Play, making it one of the most popular TV streaming apps available in the market.

To compete with Jio TV, Bharti Airtel has forged a partnership with Zee group's Ditto TV which offers more than 100 live TV channels with catch-up options on its platform. Under the partnership, Airtel users access the app without any monthly rental. Generally the app charges Rs 20 per month as subscription fee for its services.

Though, compared to Jio's TV streaming app, Ditto offers fewer popular channels and most of the channels are from its parent Zee Networks, so it wouldn't be in great place to compete with the likes of Jio TV which offers all popular channels even in HD quality. However, we expect this partnership with Ditto to flourish as it adds more channels on its platform.

Note: Only the subscription fee for Ditto TV is waived off for airtel subscribers, data usage charges are as applicable.
