Through this new feature, Uber will now let you book an UberGO or UberX in advance. Sharing insights about this new feature, Uber said that it was among the most requested features by the users around the world. Among these users, most numbers of requests came from business travelers. For payment, users would be allowed to use Credit cards, Debit cards, Prepaid wallets (PayTM), and Cash. Also, users can cancel the ride anytime they want.

How does it work:

  • The feature is limited to UberGO and UberX; Users have to tap “Schedule a Ride" to set pickup date, time, location, and destination.
  • Confirm the details of your upcoming trip and tap “Schedule uberX” or “Schedule uberGO”. Users can cancel the booking any time before the ride is on the way.
  • Uber will send you reminders both 24 hours and 30 minutes in advance of your pickup. It will notify users after the ride is on the way, as well as whether surge pricing applies.

Amit Jain, President, Uber India said in a statement,"Uber’s objective to offer accessible and reliable rides goes a notch further with the introduction of ‘Schedule a Ride’ feature. Riders can use this function to book a trip from 15 mins to 30 days in advance. For our driver-partners, it minimises idle time and for riders, it is an additional comfort of knowing your Uber will be there when it’s time to head out."
