Owing to the high demand, the Chinese smartphone manufacturer OnePlus has announced that the sale of OnePlus 3 will be put on hold in certain markets from August 9 to September 12. During this period, the company intends to generate enough stock so that the future sales will not get affected. However, interestingly OnePlus 3's Mini variant has been leaked online by GFXBench.
The markets which will witness such a halt of sale comprise of Austria, Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Estonia, France, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovakia, Slovenia, and Spain.
The customers who order the OnePlus 3 before August 9th will not be affected by this halt. Other customers can leave their email ID registered on its notification service so that they will be notified when the sales resume.
In a blog post, the company Co-founder Carl Pei said, “We are working hard to secure more stock and fire up more production lines so that we can fulfil our goal of putting premium products into the hands of as many people as possible. With this note, I wanted to give customers in affected regions enough advance notice to be able to purchase a OnePlus 3. If you’re planning to purchase but can’t do it before we pause sales, we’ll be offering an in-stock notification service where you can sign up with your email address to be notified when we’re back in stock.”
Meanwhile, a bigger news has emerged from a listing cited on GFXBench benchmarking site. The site displays a smartphone with a 4.6-inch display, Snapdragon 820 SoC processor with quad-core 2.2GHz CPU and the Adreno 530 GPU, and 6GB of RAM. There is also a 64GB internal storage spotted for the phone. In terms of optics, there is a 16MP rear camera and 8MP front-facing snapper as well.
If noticed, the phone specifications have a tacit relation with OnePlus 3 except its screen size. Could it be that the company plans to release OnePlus 3 Mini? If the speculation is right, more details could surface soon.
