TataSky the leading DTH operator in an attempt to boost its HD content subscription has slashed the price of its HD set top box to Rs.999 inclusive of first month subscription fee. The cost of the same initially used to be Rs.1800 for the set top box plus Rs.240 for first month subscription totalling to Rs.2040 which translates to more than Rs.1000 of saving on adding HD multi TV connections.

To make the deal even sweeter, TataSky is also throwing in a complementary 1 month free HD access fee for subscribers who are not already subscribed to it (The HD access fee of Rs.175 applies to the main connection after the first free month and the benefits are applied to all multi connections under the same subscriber id). Subscribers who do not wish to continue with the HD access fee post the first free month can manually deselect it from the account management page.

It is also worth noting that TataSky has not made any change in the price of the standard definition set top box which costs Rs.1600 exclusive of subscription fee, which means it will now be cheaper to buy a HD STB than a SD STB. Even subscribers who have chosen to stick with legacy CRT Tv sets which do not support an HDMI port can still go for the cheaper HD set top box and connect it to the Tv using composite AV wires.

Subscribers wishing to take advantage of this price cut can give a missed call to 7204772047 and TataSky back end team will get in touch with them for the installation process.
