Samsung had been teasing the foldable Galaxy X smartphone for quite some time. Until now, we were thinking about it more as a rumor than an actual product. But, hey, here is a video of the prototype of the foldable or rollable OLED screen by Samsung. The video has been taken by SlashGear at the SID Display Week 2016, San Francisco.

The rollable screen is of 5.7-inch with Full HD resolution. When rolled back, the OLED panel goes into a metal cylinder, which features a radius of 10mm. The weight of the foldable OLED screen is merely 5 grams with a thickness of 0.3mm. Well, the technology seems pretty impressive. It also means that Samsung might also implement the same display technology on its other line of products such as laptops, tablets, TVs, and much more.

To conclude, the screen showed in the video is a prototype and there are chances that Samsung might make a few changes to the design and functionality. We are anyway excited about the new display technology and it would be interesting to see future devices sporting foldable screen.
