The key feature of the Galaxy J3 is the 'S bike mode' that is especially made for the safety and convenience of bikers. The mode allows the bikers to activate pre-written text for all the incoming calls (they can activate it for select contacts). It also brings 'motion lock feature' which assures that the rider stops the bike before answering the call, the feature gets activated by a single tap on the NFC tag ( the NFC tag comes bundled with the device and is needed to be stuck on the vehicle). Additionally, the device comes equipped with an Ultra data saving (UDS) mode, which is powered by Opera Max and is aimed at compressing cellular data.

Under the hood, the Samsung Galaxy J3 (2016) features a 5-inch HD Super AMOLED display with a resolution of 1280 x 720 pixels. It is powered by a 64-bit 1.5GHz quad-core Spreadtrum SC9830 chipset coupled with 1.5GB of RAM and 8GB of internal storage (expandable up to 128GB via microSD card). The smartphone sports an 8-megapixel rear camera with autofocus and LED flash, along with a 5-megapixel selfie snapper. It runs Android 5.1 Lollipop with Samsung's in-house UI skinned on top, and supports connectivity options such as dual-SIM, 4G LTE, 3G, Wi-Fi, GPS, NFC, USB OTG, and Bluetooth 4.1.
