Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd (BSNL), the state-run telecom service provider, has announced a 100 percent waiver on the installation charges for CLSNP & new landline, broadband, combo, and FTTH customers. The promotional offer is available on across India till March 31, 2016.

Under the promotional offer, new as well as disconnected customers of CLSNP, landline, broadband, combo, and FTTH will not be charged any installation fee. At present, BSNL charges Rs. 600 for installation of landline connections and Rs. 250 for broadband connections. While a Fibre to the Home (FTTH) connection was being charged at Rs. 500 for installation.

BSNL was already offering waiver of installation charges as promotional offer in many circles. However, this is the first time BSNL has extended the offer across India. With the new move, BSNL is trying to revive its shrinking landline business and to attract more customers to its broadband services, which is facing stiff competition from private broadband providers.

Note: Do cross check with BSNL before opting it.
