As we are nearing the commercial launch of services by the most anticipated operator in the history of Indian telecom, the level of excitement is bound to grow. We have been steadily revealing bits and pieces of information right from the tech specs of the LYF branded phones to the features of the Jio suite of media and utility apps.

Though we do not have a circle specific launch date on our hands yet, what we do have is a fully functioning 4G LTE handset with a Jio 4G sim in it and we are using this to bring to our readers the first look of speeds on the Jio 4G network before commercial launch.

Check out the video above, we have conducted the speed test 3 times and on all occasions the download speeds have consistently been north of 30 Mbps though the upload speeds do not seem to be that impressive in comparison at this point. The ping isn't bad either, which indicates the network won't lag while loading content.

The testing was done using an LG 4G Stylus handset which supports 850/1800/2300 MHz bands bands and in a circle where it currently possesses bands 40 and 3 spectrum. The time of testing was around 11PM. The speeds may vary after commercial launch and once the load of users on the network increases.
