BlackBerry Priv to get Android 6.0 Marshmallow update next year

BlackBerry Priv, the Canadian smartphone company's first true Android smartphone, was announced recently. The device was released with Android 5.1.1 Lollipop with the company's own take such as BlackBerry Hub and Productivity Tab. However, the company has announced that it will rollout Android 6.0 Marshmallow "sometime in the next year".

Apart from this, BlackBerry, which is known for its security, has announced that it will release monthly updates to the device for better security. The device went on sale in the US last week, but it has not launched yet in India. It is expected that the BlackBerry Priv will launch in India soon after it goes live in other markets.

The BlackBerry Priv features a 5.4-inch QHD AMOLED display, a 64-bit hexa-core Snapdragon 808 processor, 3GB RAM, 32GB internal storage space, a microSD card slot, an 18-megapixel primary camera with OIS and 4K video recording, a 2-megapixel secondary camera, and a 3,410 mAh battery.
