Asianet Channel Communications has undergone a massive revamp by making it High Definition (HD) as well as by launching Asianet Mobile TV, an app for live streaming of the channels.
Asianet has gone HD from 13th August 2015 from 6pm of the day. The channel now has Dolby 5.1 sound quality and enhanced visual quality. Malayalam actor Suresh Gopi officially launched the HD channel in presence of another actor Mukesh and the Managing director of Asianet K. Madhavan. Asianet HD channel is available on all leading DTH and local cable providers.
To get the HD channel, the viewers should have televisions that support HD formats and also a set-top-box that supports HD. After installing HD set-top-box, click on the menu on the remote and opt for the HD channels.
By launching Asianet Mobile TV, Asianet has become the first multi-system operator (MSO) in India to launch OTT service. “Asianet with a little over 20 years of experience in the domain of cable TV and broadband internet services is pleased to reach out to the large Malayali diaspora with Asianet Mobile TV and provide them visual entertainment that is as close as it gets to home with the anytime, anywhere app,” said G. Sankaranarayana, Asianet Satellite Communications President and COO.

The app is available on Google Play Store or Apple app store. The Windows version of the app will be launching soon. The app will provide live content streaming of popular Malayalam channels. Around 20 Malayalam channels apart from the radio channels will be available on app. Xperio Labs has developed the app for Asianet.
Meanwhile, another popular Malayalam channel Mazhavil Manorama has launched its HD Definition channel ‘Mazhavil Manorama HD’. It is now available on Kerala Vision Digital STB's. Another Malayalam channel which is expected to launch its HD version is Surya TV.
