Vodafone and Idea have recently hiked the prices of mobile data packs for its customers in Delhi NCR, following the footsteps of Aircel and Airtel. Now, they have repeated the price hike for their subscribers in Tamil Nadu and Chennai.

Vodafone has increased 3G charges by over 27 percent for 1GB plans, whereas 2G is dearer by over 25 percent.
The country’s second largest telecom operator has increased the price for 1GB of 3G data to Rs. 249 (validity of 28 days) against an earlier price tag of Rs. 195. For a 2G plan, Vodafone is now offering 1.5GB of data for Rs. 199 (28 days validity), which used to cost Rs. 168 earlier.

On the other hand, Idea Cellular also made changes to its data packs in both, 2G as well as 3G segments. Idea users will have to pay upto 30 percent more for data packs. Moreover, similar to Vodafone, it has reduced validity in older packs as well.
