RCOM announce quarter results, data traffic up by 73.6%

Reliance communication has announced its financial results for quarter ended March 31, 2015. Total revenue for the company increased by 1% to Rs 5,703 core and EBITDA is up by 6.7% to Rs 1,976 core. Net Profit was at Rs. 228 crore, up 45.9% from Rs. 156 crore in Q4 previous year.

The company reported a exponential growth of 73.6% in data traffic at 87,211 million MB. It also claimed the highest data usage per subscriber in industry at 893 MB up 37.8% from last year. Out of the 33.7 million data subscribers 17.4 million were on 3G. In term of voice call revenues, 108.1 billion minutes of usage, up 5.7% and ARUP was at Rs 148, up 14.8%. Revenue per minutes was 44.4 paisa, up only 2.8%.

As per the report, the company launched many promotions in the quarter to drive up data usage. It had partnered with twitter during Cricket World Cup, Launch of World Cup Cricket Portal and World Cup Data Recharge Promotion. Also made exclusive partnership with hardware manufacture like Samsung and Datawind for bundle data offer. All this efforts have helped drive up the data usage on its network.
