MSO license count rise to 158 in the country

india-cable-virtual-operatorsFive new cable network operators are granted with multi-system operator (MSO) licenses that take the MSO license count to 158 in the country. Among those who received the licenses are Siti Maurya Cable Network, Sikkim Digital Network, International Cable Network, Sai Star Digital Media, and Maharaja Entertainment.

Maharaja Entertainment acquired the license for pan India in all Phases of Digital Addressable Cable (DAS).




With the license, Sikkim Digital Network covers most of Sikkim, including Yuksom, Singtam, Sombaria, Soreng, Tasiding, Temi, Tarku, Ranka, Rangpo, Rorathang, Ranipool, Rongli Aritar, Romang, Rhenock, Reshi, Phodong, Pakyong, pelling, Namthang, Namchi, Melli, Mangan, Majitar, Kabi, Lachen, Lachung, Legship, Jorethang, Geyzing, Gangtok city, Daramdin, Dentak, Dalapchand, Duku, Central Pandam, Chunthang, Bermoik and 32 Mile.

Sai Star Digital Media received license for the areas under Phase III and Phase IV, in addition to Vadodara, Rajkot, Surat and Ahemedabad under Phase II.

International Cable Network has got the licence for Rohtash, Buxar and Bhojpur and Siti Maurya for all districts in Bihar except Madhepura and Arwal.

Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has listed the operators and the areas they are granted permission in its website .
