Micromax promoted YU Televentures has made it a point to grab the eyeballs since its inception. The company is readying itself up to launch the Project Caesar smartphone and has been taking digs at Xiaomi till the same gets launched. It made it to the headlines when it struck an exclusive deal with Cyanogen for using its ROMs and launched the YU YUREKA smartphone.

YUREKA

Well, the YUREKA is about to get its first major update and its coming in the first week of April. YU first teased the Android Lollipop update back in March for the YUREKA and when a lot of owners asked the company about it, its response to them resulted in the conclusion that the update was indeed coming in early April. The update will essentially be the CyanogenMod 12S ROM based on Android Lollipop.

The same was expected to roll out for OnePlus One on 30th March but it missed the deadline and got delayed. We wouldn't be surprised if the update for the YUREKA got delayed too. The Project Caesar smartphone from YU which is due for a launch later this month will come with CyanogenMod 12S out-of-the box so we can expect the update to reach us before that in all probability.

YUREKA comes across as a device which gives you more than just a bang for your buck and at Rs 8,999, it is probably the best device money can buy in the sub-Rs 10,000 segment.
